What we process

When you paste a Pinterest link, pinloot sends it to Pinterest's own servers to look up the pin and show you what's downloadable. The resolved result (not the link you typed) is cached briefly — up to 6 hours for ordinary pins, 15 minutes for the small number of Instagram-recovered videos — so that resolving the same popular pin again doesn't repeatedly hit Pinterest's servers. This cache is keyed by the pin's own ID, not by anything that identifies you.

pinloot itself doesn't create accounts, require sign-in, or ask for any personal information.

Infrastructure-level logging

pinloot runs on Cloudflare's network, and Cloudflare's bot-protection check (Turnstile) and standard edge infrastructure see request metadata like your IP address and browser, the same as any site on their network — this is Cloudflare's own operational logging, governed by Cloudflare's privacy practices, not something pinloot adds on top.

No file hosting

pinloot doesn't store the videos, images or GIFs you download. Your download streams directly from Pinterest's (or, for the Instagram-fallback case, Meta's) servers through pinloot to your browser, and nothing is kept afterward.

Cookies and analytics

pinloot uses Google Analytics (GA4) to understand overall traffic — things like which pages are visited and roughly how many people use the site. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects standard usage data (pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type); it isn't used here to identify you individually.

pinloot also uses Microsoft Clarity to record anonymized session replays and heatmaps — how people move through and interact with the page — to help spot confusing or broken parts of the site.
